EVENT INFORMATION
 

ADJUDICATING PANEL

A rotating panel of judges will adjudicate this event and will comprise of South African Body of Dance judges, international judges and the Federation of Dance Sport South Africa / South African Dance Teachers Association adjudicators. Members of the panel will be announced closer to the event.

 

AGE GROUPS

All age groups are welcome as per the SABOD and SADTA Rule Books.

 

ATM FACILITIES

There are ATM facilities located within the Sun City complex.

COMPETITION PROGRAM

• A schedule will be uploaded to our website, after the closing date of BOTG. It is subject to alteration, depending on the number of entries received and unforeseen circumstances thereafter. 

• The organiser reserves the right to combine or cancel sections, when necessary.

• In the event of any alteration, an up-date notification will be issued to each studio/dance club.

• Program of events subject to change without notice.

• The organisers reserve the right to combine any sections should the need arise.

DANCE FLOOR

14m width x 11m length.

Ballet mats & Tap mics will be provided. 

The dance floor will be divided in two for certain sections, where appropriate.

GAMING

There are gaming facilities at the Sun City Hotel.  Gambling for persons 18 years and over.  Sun International supports the National Responsible Gambling Program.

SUN CITY ENTRANCE

 Tickets purchased for the event from Computicket, need to be shown at the gate.

• BOTG package bookings include entrance to the resort.

• Pre-purchased Computicket’s gain you free access to the resort.

• No Computicket presented at the gate, Sun City Resort entry fees will apply.

Day Visitors:

• Entrance to the Valley of the Waves is charged as per Sun City Resort pricing:

  • Mon-Fri - R290 Children / R395 Adults​

  • Sat-Sun - R350 Children / R450 Adults

• Computicket’s or dancers armbands do not allow access to the Valley.

Dancers:

• Dance Studio/club's will receive a letter to be filled in with dancer's information and to be presented at the main gate. 

• Dancers to report to the Lupata Room (Sun Central) for registration and to receive their BOTG Bag containing accreditation, commemorative T-Shirt and more. 

Computicket's can be purchased from the Lupata Room for spectators via card ONLY.

DANCER & DANCE STUDIO REGISTRATION

Registration and information for Dancers, Dance Studios owners and Dance Club leaders, take place at the Lupata Room (Sun Central).

 

Registration hours:

7pm - 9pm             Wednesday  
7am - 7pm              Thursday - Friday

7am - 3pm              Saturday

7am - 1pm              Sunday

                   

RULES

Trainers need to be aware of the various competition Rules & Regulations pertaining to the disciplines that fall under the SABOD and SADTA. These rules are available on request. BOTG Gala evening section rules can be found here.

T-SHIRT ORDERS & SIZES

Dancers all receive one commemorative BOTG T-Shirt as part of their entry fee. 

 

BOTG Commemorative T-shirts are to be ordered as follows:

• Dancer online entry link. This t-shirt size must be entered online along with the entry into the competition. 

 

Freestyle & Disco dancers - Same as above

Ballroom & Latin dancers - Same as above

 

• Non-dancers (teachers, spectators, etc) who wish to order a commemorative BOTG T-shirt and dancers who require extra commemorative t-shirts, may do so by following the link provided on our Merchandise page. Proof of payment will need to accompany the order - orders close at closing date of competition (7 March 2024).
